There are hundreds of places to find kitchen worktops in Bristol but if you want quality you have to be a little bit clever. With the exponential growth in property renovation projects over the last 10 years the kitchen worktop trade has blossomed. This has led to ferocious competition amongst suppliers.

Competition is usually good for the consumer but don’t let that lull you into a false sense of security. You should forever be aware that the cheaper worktops may not last as long as you might assume. They look great in the shop but you may learn that as soon as they get a little bit of water on the end grain the laminate can lift readily.

If you’re only renting a property out then obviously the cheaper option is the answer. Even so don’t go too cheap because you might find in a year or so you have to go back into the property and renew all the worktops. In this case you may as well have just spent a little bit more in the first place on decent worktops which would no doubt last three times as long.

So just be observant of the fly by night traders and if you really have no clue what you’re looking at request the advice of a tradesperson either through an aquaintance or via one of the numerous DIY forums in cyberspace.
