Market for Exotic Collectibles Such As Colorado Persian Rugs Surges Ahead

The last two years have been disappointing but the exotic collectibles market is starting to take off again. Unlike the stock market, rare and exotic collectibles have in general maintained a large portion of their value, and buyers are really beginning to come back to the market.
The market for Persian rugs has has fallen the last two years. Manufacturers have cut their production numbers as well, so supplies are low. This means that prices are still relatively high.

In September of 2010, Congress placed a trade ban on Iranian products entering the country, which further reduced the supply of Persian rugs. Many rug sellers bought and imported large numbers of rugs before the embargo, so they can still be found here.

Prices for Persian rugs are on the high side and range across the spectrum. Usually, the cost of a rug is established by the number of knots used in each inch, but even then the type of wool and the type of dye can affect the cost. In America, an average quality 8×10 rug runs upwards of a thousand bucks, but again, prices can vary dramatically.

With the exotic collectible demand taking off again, the savvy collector goes to the Middle and Far East for the most trendy cultural and art articles. Eastern art is highly popular today, with fashions preferring the cynical realism of today’s Asian culture, and revival of popularity of historic Persian and Indian culture items.

Far Eastern art has been hot for over fifty years and can vary from unpretentious prints housed in economical frames to fashionable but genuine Buddha statues made from exquisite stones.

Today’s art and collectibles from the Far East are also far cheaper than in past decades , brought on by the internet market.

Middle Eastern art has a more arabesque flavor, highlighting flower and plant motifs and repeating geometric patterns. Much attention is also paid to exquisite Arabic calligraphy.
The Middle East is also famous for hardstone carvings of jewelry items or statues. Often, these carvings are ceremonial in nature and are used for burning or holding aromatic spices, creams and incense .

Straddling the fence between the Far and Middle East|Between far Asia and the Middle East|Sitting at the divide between east and west}, India’s art and collectible landscape has been affected by a broad mix of influences. The well-known Indian statues of Lord Krishna or Lakshmi, or Buddhas sitting cross-legged in wistful recline are of course the hottest. While these may seem a bit hackneyed, the imagery instilled into each article makes it a special find. Find Aspen Oriental Rugs Here: http://www.nooriscollection.com/
